With it’s beautiful landscape, throws of nature and preserved culture, Oman is one of the most popular vacation/staycation spots in the Middle East. Travelling to Oman is a rich experience, the people and place have an embracing vibe that heartily welcomes every visitor. There’s a blend of tradition and modernity that makes Oman unique and attractive to anyone who’s looking for an escape from the ordinary.

In this article, we’ll take you through the must-knows of travelling to Oman and also a couple of things to note when renting a car if you’re making a family road trip out of it!

First things first: Getting your Visa when going from Dubai to Oman

Oman recently announced new visa rules that were brought into effect from the 21st of March – in the process of planning your trip to Oman, please make sure that you apply for an e-Visa since visas on arrival have been suspended and will no longer be provided on visa service desks.

The best time to visit Oman

Just like the UAE, summers there are incredibly hot – so, the best time to visit Oman is during the winter (hint: winter is coming). The weather during winters is particularly pleasant and temperatures range between 15°C to 25°C. We recommend that you spend at least 5-7 days and take it all in!

Though there are buses from Dubai to Oman, we recommend renting a car so that you can enjoy the flexibility of exploring the scenic routes to Oman and having the choice to either have a quiet or a fun sing-along trip with your friends and family.
