Below are all the public holidays where schools, private and government entities will be closed. So what are you waiting for? Plan your vacations with this guide.

13th April – Friday – Al Isra Wa’al Miraj – The Night of Ascension

The Night of Ascension is a holy event for Muslims. The day is celebrated to mark the Prophet’s ascension from Makkah to Jerusalem and heaven.

15th June – Friday – Eid Ul Fitr

Eid Ul Fitr is the celebration after Ramadan. Muslims celebrate in gratitude after observing fasts to thank God for all blessings.

21st August – Tuesday – Arafat Day

Arafat Day is the day before Eid Ul Adha or 2nd day of Haj pilgrimage. Muslims observe Arafat Day to pray forgiveness and accept sacrifices.

22nd August – Wednesday – Eid Ul Adha

Eid Ul Adha is celebrated in memory of Abraham. Muslims sacrifice a dairy animal to mark the occasion. Since the holiday is expected on Wednesday, it could be combined with an additional day to create the all perfect long weekend.

11th September – Tuesday – Islamic New Year

Islamic New Year falls on 11th September this year as per the lunar calendar cycle.

20th November – Tuesday – Prophet’s Birthday

12 Rabi Ul Awwal is the annual lunar date of Prophet’s (PBUH) birthday.

30th November – Friday – Martyr’s Day

This day is dedicated to Emirati soldiers who have died in battle for their nation. Since it’s falling on a Friday, most likely the private sector companies will not provide an extra day of holiday.

2nd December – Sunday – UAE National Day

The UAE National Day is expected to fall on Sunday, which means you can combine it with the weekend for a long weekend. Enjoy!
