The U.A.E Recently updated this traffic laws, meaning new  regulations and fines in Dubai are now in place.

Here is the list of all the new fines in Dubai. We here at ejarcar.com encourage all our customers to drive safely and keep these rules in mind when driving in Dubai

Lets start with the most Relevant new fines in Dubai.

  • Every Passenger in the Car needs to wear a seat belt including those sitting in the back seat. Failure to do so will result in a AED 400 fine and 4 black points for the driver.
  • Children under four must be in car seats now, also there is a AED 400 fine for drivers who allow children under the age of 10 and below 145 centimeters to sit in the front.
  • Driving with expired tyres could get you a AED 500 fine, 4 black points and  your vehicle will be impounded for 7 days. if you would like to know how to check the expiry of your tires click here.
  • Window tints cannot exceed 50% – AED 1,500 fine.
  • There is now a AED 3,000 fine and 24 black points for driving passengers commercially without permission.
  • Texting or using their mobile phone while driving – AED 800 fine and 4 black points.
  • Failure to leave a safe distance behind another car will get you a fine of AED 400 and 4 black points (Hopefully we wont have Land cruisers flashing , inches away from us on Sheikh Zayed road)
  •  Reckless driving that endangers the lives of others will result in a AED 2,000 fine, 23 points and confiscation for 60 days.
  •  Driving under the influence of alcohol will lead to a Dhs20,000 fine and/or a jail term (which will be decided by the court). It will also incur 23 black points and the vehicle will be confiscated for 60 days. ( You should know better than to drink and drive)

Speeding Fines in Dubai (And the U.A.E)

Exceeding the speed limit by more than:

  • 80 km/h –  AED 3,000 fine, 23 black points and mean your car is impounded for 60 days.
  • 60 km/h – AED 2,000 fine, 12 points and 30 days confiscation.
  • 59 km/h – AED 1,500 fine, 6 black points and 15 days confiscation.
  • 49 km/h – AED 1,000 fine.
  • 39 km/h – AED 700 fine.
  • 29 km/h – AED 600 fine.
  • 19 km/h – AED 300 fine.

Here are some more of the new fines in Dubai to keep in mind

  • Driving a noisy vehicle or causing excessive noise disturbance – AED 2,000 and 6 black points.
  • Driving without valid insurance and registration – AED 500 fine, 4 black points and a vehicle impounding of a week.
  • Ignoring traffic lights –  AED 1,000, 12 black points and their vehicles will be seized for a month.
  • ‘Crowding’ during accidents, inappropriately stopping to observe – AED 1,000 fine and 6 black points.
  • Sudden swerving – AED 1,000 and 4 black points.
  • Driving quad bikes and ‘three-wheeled motorcycles’ on roads – AED 3,000 fine and have their vehicle seized for 90 days.
  • There’s also AED 50 fine for not claiming a vehicle after the end of its seizure period.
