We review Jaguar F-Pace S 2016 in Dubai

Jaguar has taken a bold step of venturing in family SUV segment. Jaguar extends their ‘sporty luxury’ lineup in a segment which traditionally favors comfort and practicality. We  review Jaguar F-Pace S Ultimate Black Edition over a trip to Al Qudra lake.

Jaguar F-Pace S Style Chops

The Jaguar F-Pace S has sporty headlights, distinguished front grille and fantastic ambient lighting particularly in the top spec Ultimate Black color. The F-Pace S body kit looks very sporty in a dark parking lot. The body kit includes a sporty front bumper, satin chrome finishers, S Badge and gesture tailgate. Add 22 inch double helix wheels with sporty brakes for a very sporty finish. Understandably, the overall car shape leans is definitely more curvy than say BMW X6, leaning towards practicality which is the hallmark requirement of the segment.

Jaguar F-Pace S Interior

The F-Pace S comes well equipped with a good combination of sporty and practical features. The interior mood lighting adds a very sporty touch. Red sporty seats, head up display and sporty red brake calipers add testosterone to the equation. On the practicality side, kids will love the panoramic roof. There is enough room in the back for 3 kids as well. The protruding mound in the middle reduces leg space for the middle passenger sitting at the back. We really liked the technology panel and dashboard. It is very stylish and user friendly. We felt the interior materials could be a bit more premium. Also we recommend adding a traditional sporty leather gear shifting stick rather than a round knob. The round gear shifting knob is luxurious but not very sporty. Jaguar F- Pace S Drive Performance

The Jaguar F-Pace S comes with a 3.0 V6 engine and generates 375 HP. The power is greater than rivals BMW X5 and Audi Q7. In our drive tests, we found Jaguar F-Pace to achieve 0-100 km in 6.5 seconds. This is very good for a family SUV. There are three drive and suspension modes, Economy, Normal and Dynamic. The Economy mode, lighter weight and 8 speed transmission allows the driver to reach speeds of 115 km/h with RPM under 2,000. This is great for fuel savings. It is also possible to independently adjust suspension settings which is unheard of in this segment so credit to Jaguar for this feature. For a family SUV the handling is sharp and gives F-Pace a clear edge over rival premium SUVs.

Jaguar F-Pace S Price Tag

The starting price tag of Jaguar F-Pace is 232,000 AED. The F-Pace S Ultimate Black edition we tested will set you back by 349,000 AED. Compared to BMW and Audi rivals the price is quite competitive. This is a premium 5 seater family SUV with the distinguished Jaguar sporty outlook.
