After discontinuing the funky-looking crossover Juke, Nissan is back with a smaller subcompact built for urban adventurers in the concrete jungle. Read on for Ejarcar’s Nissan Kicks review!

At first glance, it may be hard to tell the Juke and Kicks apart. Nissan retained familiar elements such as the V-Motion grille, boomerang-style headlights and taillights, and the floating roof with a wrap-around look to the windscreen and side glass. Come round the back and you’ll see that the Kicks’ rear features are much sleeker design compared to its predecessor, thanks to its extremely raked tailgate and wraparound tail lights. The contrasting roof colour wraps up the handsome exterior of this newcomer in the crossover segment.

Peek at the Nissan Kicks’ interior and you’ll notice that there’s ample amount of headroom and legroom both in the first and second rows. There are also cup holders at the back so rear passengers can also get their fix during morning coffee runs. The centre console has a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Siri Eyes-Free, Bluetooth phone support, and a basic rear-view camera in all trims. The SV or SR trims support satellite radio, plus Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Nissan Kicks Specs

Let’s get down to the Nissan Kicks’ specs. In terms of performance, the Nissan Kicks is fitted with a 1.6-liter engine that runs at 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. Equipped with Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), all three trims can cover 13 kilometers per liter during city drives and 15 kml on highways. There’s no manual transmission and it only comes in FWD, but this beast can still pull up a hill with minimum effort. For an entry-level vehicle, the Nissan Kicks is definitely one to watch out for.
